HI IM HELEN
I’m a commercial and editorial photographer based in NY. Through my background and interest in psychology and anthopology, I love exploring the connections and dialogues between photographer and subject. The subjects I enjoy photographing the most are informative portraits of craftspeople, and environments reflective of their owners.

I am a second generation Chinese immigrant that was born and raised in NY from East Harlem. After completing my BA from Baruch in psychology/journalism, I backpacked for about 3 years. I received my MA in photography at the Paris College of Art, before resettling home to take care of my father in 2021 before his passing–and have loved being back in NY since.

In my downtime, I enjoy exploring cultures and spaces through food & bev, running, and pushing the limits of how many exclamaition marks are appropropriate for an email.
